DOH extends vaccination drive until Feb 18

The Department of Health (DOH) has extended the third wave of the national vaccination drive, "Bayanihan, Bakunahan III," until February 18, 2022.

The vaccination program was originally set to conclude on February 11, 2022.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire urged the public to get their primary vaccine series or booster shots to achieve maximum protection for the "new normal."

During the initial phase of the drive on February 10, 662,318 Filipinos were vaccinated, with 442,346 receiving primary doses and 219,972 getting booster shots.

Pediatric inoculation for children aged 5 to 11 will continue in dedicated vaccine sites, with 52,262 children vaccinated to date.

No serious adverse events have been reported among vaccinated children, with only four experiencing mild reactions that subsided.
