The Department of Health-Center for Health and Development (DOH-CHD) in Caraga confirmed the region's fifth case of COVID-19, a 65-year-old male from Agusan del Norte who traveled to Manila in late February.
The patient tested positive through a Rapid Antibody-based Test (RAT) and remains asymptomatic.
His sample was among 47 results released by the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) in Davao City, with 46 testing negative.
He has been on strict quarantine since his arrival and will continue isolation for monitoring.
Contact tracing is underway for individuals the patient had close contact with, who will undergo RAT and observation.
