No isolation exemption for Covid-19 patients on May 9
The Department of Health (DOH) is advising individuals who tested positive for COVID-19 to remain in isolation during the upcoming Eleksyon 2022.
Health Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje reiterated that COVID-19 patients are not allowed to go outside while still in isolation, even on election day.
She cited Republic Act No. 11332 which penalizes non-cooperation of people identified as having the disease.
Cabotaje stated that the Commission on Elections (Comelec) has not announced arrangements for those in isolation facilities to vote.
Unvaccinated individuals and those exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms after screening on election day will be able to vote in a separate or isolated voting area near the precinct.
