DLSU Manila suspends classes due to bomb threat

De La Salle University (DLSU) in Manila shifted to online classes on Thursday, October 2, 2025, due to a bomb threat received via email.

The email, written in Bisaya, stated that a bomb was planted at the university and was set to detonate the following morning.

The Manila Police District (MPD) conducted a sweep of the university premises and found no explosives.

Despite the all-clear, the Malate Police Station will conduct follow-up inspections on Thursday.

DLSU student Peter Basco confirmed receiving an announcement about the suspension of face-to-face classes due to the security threat.

Another student, Jeremiah Gindap, expressed skepticism about the authenticity of the threat.

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso suggested the threat might be a prank and urged DLSU to conduct an internal investigation.
