Divers find 57 suspected human bones in Taal Lake

Divers recovered 57 suspected human bones from Taal Lake in November as the search for missing sabungeros continues.

The skeletal remains were found in Laurel town, Batangas, with recoveries on November 6, 17, and 18.

DOJ spokesperson Polo Martinez confirmed the findings on Thursday, noting that DNA analysis has not yielded any positive matches so far.

Authorities have collected DNA samples from 33 families.

The search was initiated on July 10 after whistleblower Julie Patidongan alleged that missing cockfight enthusiasts were killed and thrown into the lake.

Patidongan previously claimed that businessman Atong Ang, Claudine Barretto, an ex-judge, a former local government official, and several police officers were involved.
