Diplomats arriving from red list countries exempted from travel ban

Filipino and foreign diplomats arriving from countries on the government's red list are now exempted from the travel ban implemented due to the Omicron Covid-19 variant threat.

This exemption includes qualified dependents of diplomats, such as their spouses and children.

Immigration officers and foreign airlines have been informed of these exemptions for immediate implementation.

Those covered by the exemption include Philippine officials and their delegations on official travel abroad, Philippine diplomats and their dependents returning home, and personnel from Philippine foreign service posts arriving for consultations or on approved leave.

Despite the exemption, diplomats must still undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine before being released.
