DILG sec says no basis to probe VP's COVID-19 relief efforts

Interior Secretary Eduardo Año stated that there is no legal basis to investigate the Office of the Vice President's (OVP) relief efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Año's statement contradicts Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) commissioner Manuelito Luna, who suggested a probe into the OVP's aid to frontline workers.

Luna claimed the OVP's actions might be illegal and intended to undermine government efforts.

However, another PACC commissioner, Greco Belgica, clarified that Luna's statement was a personal opinion and not the stance of the commission.

Vice President Leni Robredo, unfazed by the call for investigation, emphasized the need to focus on the ongoing relief work.
