DILG chief Año tests negative for Covid-19
Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Año has tested negative for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Año confirmed his negative test result from the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) on Monday, April 13.
He was previously informed of a positive test result on March 31 and underwent testing on April 8.
A negative test result is required twice for a patient to be considered recovered, according to the Department of Health.
Año serves as the vice chair of the National Task Force implementing measures to contain the virus.
He is the latest Cabinet member to have contracted the virus and show signs of recovery, following Education Secretary Leonor Briones who also received her first negative result.
Año had been working from home after coming into contact with at least four individuals who tested positive for COVID-19.
