DILG reminds condo owners to follow ECQ rules

Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Año reiterated that condominium owners must strictly follow enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) protocols.

Año emphasized that residents cannot create their own rules and must respect authorities during the public health emergency and state of calamity.

He stressed that laws apply equally to everyone, regardless of status, and that wearing masks and social distancing are crucial.

Año's statement came after an incident where police officers asked residents to return to their units for violating ECQ rules at a Taguig City condominium.

The incident led to a controversy, with the condominium management planning legal action.

While Año acknowledged that the police's shouting was improper and promised to address it, he maintained that condominium guidelines must align with national government directives.
