DILG orders strict health protocols as Metro Manila shifts to Alert Level 4

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has ordered the intensified enforcement of health protocols in Metro Manila as it transitions to Alert Level 4.

Interior Secretary Eduardo Año reiterated the importance of Minimum Public Health Standards (MPHS) such as hand washing, wearing face masks and face shields, and physical distancing to prevent virus transmission.

Local government units (LGUs) and the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) are instructed to reactivate their respective task forces and brigades to manage restricted activities.

Under the new alert level system, most activities are permitted except for those classified as "3Cs": closed, crowded, and close contact.

Specifically, social events like parties, wedding receptions, debuts, birthday celebrations, family reunions, parades, motorcades, and gatherings at private residences with individuals outside the immediate household are prohibited under Alert Level 4.
