DILG completes 478 barangay health stations nationwide benefiting over 785k residents

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) announced that 478 barangay health stations have been completed nationwide between 2021 and 2025, benefiting 785,897 residents in 620 insurgency-cleared barangays.

These health stations were funded by the Support to Barangay Development Program (SBDP), which allocated P1.977 billion for their construction.

The DILG highlighted that these completed facilities aim to improve access to basic medical care for families who previously had to travel far for services.

In Barangay Udtongan, City of Escalante, the health station now provides free consultations, medicines, dental and laboratory services, family planning support, and first aid.

Residents in Barangay Calaoagan, Piat, Cagayan, no longer need to travel nine kilometers to the municipal health unit for medical assistance.

In addition to health stations, the SBDP also finances other crucial barangay infrastructure projects such as farm-to-market roads, water systems, and electrification.
