DILG claims Duterte aware of revolutionary gov't advocates

Interior and Local Government Undersecretary Epimaco Densing III claimed that President Rodrigo Duterte is aware of the group advocating for a revolutionary government, citing that former TESDA chief Gene Mamondiong leads the group and other members are part of the Cabinet.

Densing pointed out that several members of the Movement for Real Change and Development (MRRD), which is allegedly pushing for a revolutionary government, are currently serving in the Duterte administration.

This statement contradicts President Duterte's earlier denial of any association with a group named Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte-National Executive Coordinating Committee, stating he was unaware of them and had no interest in their activities.

Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana deemed the call for a revolutionary government as illegal and unconstitutional, assuring that the Department of National Defense does not support such initiatives.

The Philippine National Police, through its chief Police General Archie Francisco Gamboa, has directed the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group to investigate the group pushing for a revolutionary government.
