Diesel, kerosene prices up P0.90/L; gasoline down P0.20/L starting Tuesday

Fuel retailers will implement mixed price adjustments on September 30, with diesel and kerosene prices increasing for the sixth consecutive week, while gasoline prices will see a rollback.

Chevron Philippines Inc. (Caltex), Seaoil Philippines Corp., and Shell Pilipinas Corp. will increase diesel and kerosene by P0.90 per liter each, and roll back gasoline by P0.20 per liter.

Cleanfuel will implement the same changes for gasoline and diesel, but does not sell kerosene.

These adjustments will take effect on Tuesday, September 30, with Cleanfuel implementing theirs later in the afternoon.

Heightened geopolitical risks, including US actions regarding Russian energy and the resumption of Iraq exports, are cited as reasons for the price changes.

The depreciation of the Philippine peso against the US dollar also contributed to the potential diesel price hike and limited the gasoline rollback.
