DICT pilots digital vaccine registry in San Juan City

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) has launched a pilot test of its digital COVID-19 immunization registry, the Vaccine Information Management System Immunization Registry (VIMS-IR), in San Juan City.

This system aims to streamline the vaccine registration process and accelerate the national immunization program by reducing registration time from 20 minutes to 10 minutes.

San Juan City was chosen as the pilot site due to its efficient vaccination rollout and Mayor Francis Zamora highlighted that the VIMS-IR has already reduced registration time.

Mayor Zamora stated that the system will store information about a person's health and comorbidities, further reducing waiting time at registration booths.

If successful, the DICT plans to implement the VIMS-IR nationwide.

DICT Undersecretary Manny Caintic mentioned that they will provide internet in all vaccination sites to ensure the VIMS-IR is accessible.
