The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has approved an additional P740.8 million to replenish the government's quick response funds (QRF).
This funding is crucial for relief and recovery efforts following recent natural disasters that affected the Philippines.
The DBM released P640.834 million to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and P100 million to the Department of National Defense-Office of Civil Defense (OCD).
Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman stated that President Bongbong Marcos's directive is for continuous government support to aid citizens in returning to normal life.
The DSWD's allocated funds will be used for purchasing Family Food Packs, Non-Food Items, and providing Emergency Cash Transfer to 73,348 families impacted by earthquakes in Cebu and Davao, as well as those affected by the southwest monsoon and tropical cyclones in the Bicol region.
The OCD's replenishment will cover Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses to support its disaster management operations until the end of the year.
