The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has released a total of P6.9 billion to provide financial assistance to survivors of Typhoon Odette.

This includes an additional P4.9 billion approved on December 28, on top of P2 billion released earlier on December 24 and 27.

The funds will be distributed to local government units (LGUs) in six regions placed under a state of calamity.

Western Visayas will receive the largest portion, amounting to P2.1 billion for LGUs and P1.6 billion for individuals.

Other regions receiving funds include Mimaropa, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, and Caraga.

The latest P4.9-billion release specifically targets individuals whose livelihoods and properties were damaged by the typhoon.
