DBM releases P3.39 billion for PNP performance bonuses

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has approved the release of P3.39 billion for the Fiscal Year 2023 Performance-Based Bonus (PBB) of Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel.

This fund will benefit over 225,545 qualified PNP officials and personnel, with each receiving a bonus equivalent to 45.5% of their monthly basic salary as of December 31, 2023.

To be eligible, PNP members in the First, Second, and Third Levels must have achieved at least a 'Very Satisfactory' performance rating.

Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman stated that the bonus is a recognition of the police officers' hard work and dedication and will help ease financial burdens on their families.

The PBB payment is charged against the Miscellaneous Personnel Benefits Fund under the Fiscal Year 2025 General Appropriations Act.

The DBM clarified that the release of the 2023 bonus in 2025 is not a delay, as the evaluation process, including appeals, typically takes a year.
