DBM allocates P9.5 billion for gov't worker medical allowance in 2025

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has allocated PHP9.5 billion for the medical allowance of government workers in 2025, a benefit announced by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

This fund, sourced from the Miscellaneous Personnel Benefits Fund, is intended to benefit over a million state workers.

Government employees will each receive a medical allowance to subsidize Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) benefits or similar services.

The allowance aims to assist public employees in covering medical expenses and preparing for health emergencies.

This new benefit extends to employees in national government agencies, State Universities and Colleges, and Government-Owned or -Controlled Corporations within the Executive department.

Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman emphasized that healthcare is a top priority for the administration and that the allowance will help public servants manage medical costs and maintain their health.
