Davao Region to implement 14-day region-wide community quarantine

Local government units in Davao Region will suspend their individual lockdowns for 14 days in favor of a region-wide community quarantine, as announced by Davao Region COVID-19 Task Force Chairperson Mayor Sara Z. Duterte.

The decision was made after governors and mayors agreed to halt local declarations to implement a unified system and awareness campaign for the region.

Davao City will not implement a complete lockdown due to its concentration of essential facilities like hospitals and government offices.

Travel within the region will be restricted to essential work purposes only.

Residents from other areas, including Samal Island, will still be subject to strict screening measures, including temperature checks, health declarations, and employer identification, even if local lockdowns are temporarily lifted.

Individuals with business transactions in the city must present proof of their business permits to be allowed entry.

Workers residing outside the region are advised to remain within Davao Region for the 14-day quarantine period.

Those leaving the region will be prohibited from re-entering for the next 14 days.
