Davao City mobile vaccination drive reaches over 51,000 residents

As of October 8, 2021, 51,567 residents of Davao City have received anti-Covid-19 vaccine doses through the Sangguniang Panlungsod-led mobile vaccination program.

Of those vaccinated, 13,257 individuals have completed their second doses.

The city government aims to inoculate 70 percent of its population, approximately 1.2 million individuals, to achieve population protection.

Mayor Sara Z. Duterte requested the mobile vaccination initiative, which started on August 3, to expedite the vaccination rollout and meet the target before the year ends.

Currently, 62 percent of the target population in Davao City have received at least their first dose of the vaccine, translating to 779,925 Dabawenyos.

As of October 5, 646,248 individuals have been fully vaccinated.

To reach their target of 15,000 daily vaccinees, the city government and the Davao Covid-19 Task Force have expanded their vaccination efforts through "Bakuna Nights" and mobile vaccinations in barangays.

These initiatives aim to bring vaccines closer to residents, especially since not all vaccination hubs have consistent vaccine supply.
