DAR condones P327M debt for 4,029 ARBs in North Mindanao

A total of 4,029 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in Northern Mindanao have been freed from P327.937 million in debt.

The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) distributed 5,064 Certificates of Condonation with Release of Mortgage (CoCRoM) covering 6,105.2966 hectares of land.

Farmer-beneficiaries from Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, and Misamis Occidental received the CoCRoMs.

DAR-Northern Mindanao Director Zoraida Macadindang stated that the CoCRoMs clear farmers' mortgages, granting them full ownership of their land.

She added that this initiative helps achieve long-term prosperity and stability for ARBs and aligns with the Marcos administration's support for the agricultural sector.

The debt condonation complies with Republic Act 11953, the New Agrarian Emancipation Act, signed into law in July 2023.
