DA launches P20 Benteng Bigas registry to aid 15M households by 2026

The Department of Agriculture (DA) has launched the P20 Benteng Bigas Masterlist Registry System, a digital platform designed to streamline the P20-per-kilo rice program.

Agriculture Secretary Francisco P. Tiu Laurel, Jr. stated the system aims to expedite beneficiary identification to reach the target of serving 15 million households with affordable rice by 2026.

The registry is part of the 'Benteng Bigas Meron Na' program, which provides affordable rice to vulnerable sectors including senior citizens, solo parents, PWDs, 4Ps beneficiaries, farmers, fisherfolk, minimum-wage earners, and transport workers.

Beneficiaries will receive a unique QR code after registering at Kadiwa stores and other designated outlets, which will be used for purchases.

DA staff will assist individuals in remote areas with limited internet connectivity in the registration process.

Registered beneficiaries without QR codes will be disallowed from purchasing the P20 rice after March 1, 2026.
