CSC releases guidelines on alternative work arrangements for gov't workers

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has issued guidelines on alternative work arrangements for government workers amidst the COVID-19 public health emergency.

Agencies can implement a four-day workweek, requiring employees to work 10 hours a day for four days to meet the 40-hour weekly requirement.

Alternatively, shifting schedules can be adopted to ensure continuous service delivery while meeting the 40-hour work week.

Agencies may utilize either or both arrangements and can formulate their own internal rules, which must be submitted to the CSC.

These measures are in place for the duration of the public health emergency, and agencies must monitor workers to ensure public service is not prejudiced.
