Creamline survives ZUS Coffee in 5 sets for 4th straight PVL win

Defending champion Creamline secured its fourth straight win in the PVL All-Filipino Conference against ZUS Coffee, winning in five sets with scores of 25-22, 28-30, 26-24, 17-25, 15-13.

The victory improved Creamline's record to 4-0, tying them with Cignal HD at the top of the league standings.

Philippine volleyball icon Alyssa Valdez led the nail-biting win with 17 points, with 16 of them coming from attacks.

Despite squandering a 2-1 match lead, Creamline displayed composure and grace under pressure, coming back from a 9-11 deficit in the deciding fifth set with a closing 6-2 run.

ZUS Coffee, absorbing its third loss in five games, slipped to 2-3 in the standings, but veteran spikers Jovelyn Gonzaga and Chai Troncoso expressed confidence in the team's progress.

Gonzaga recorded 11 points and 11 digs, highlighting the potential of the younger players despite the loss.

Both teams will return to action in the new year, with ZUS Coffee facing Choco Mucho on January 18 and Creamline playing Capital1 on January 21, after a league break.
