Jia De Guzman to miss PVL Reinforced Conference title defense

Creamline Cool Smashers will defend their PVL Reinforced Conference title without their star setter, Jia de Guzman.

Team captain Alyssa Valdez confirmed de Guzman's absence, stating it was a management decision.

De Guzman has been playing continuously for the past three years, and this decision allows her to focus on other commitments.

She recently played two seasons in the Japan V. League for the Denso Airybees and has shifted her focus to the national team.

De Guzman captained Alas Pilipinas to a silver medal in the AVC Women's Volleyball Nations Cup in June.

She last played for Creamline over two years ago, helping them to a runner-up finish in the 2023 Invitational Conference.

De Guzman is expected to return to Creamline for next year's All-Filipino Conference.
