Cool Smashers, Angels face off in PVL title decider

Creamline Cool Smashers and Petro Gazz Angels will face each other in a winner-take-all Game 3 for the PVL All-Filipino Conference title on Saturday, April 12, at the PhilSports Arena.

The Cool Smashers forced the decisive match by winning Game 2 in a five-set thriller, ending the Angels' six-game winning streak.

Bernadeth Pons scored 22 points in Game 2, supported by Jema Galanza (13 points) and Pangs Panaga (12 points).

Petro Gazz took the series opener on April 8 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, with Brooke Van Sickle scoring 24 points, MJ Philips and Jonah Sabete contributing 16 points each, and Myla Pablo adding 12 points.

Creamline is aiming for their fifth consecutive PVL championship, while Petro Gazz seeks their first All-Filipino title.

Creamline head coach Sherwin Meneses acknowledged the difficulty of making adjustments with limited recovery time between games, stating, "It's really difficult to make adjustments in just one day, especially with the tight schedule of Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday games."

Meneses anticipates Game 3 will be a "mental battle" with little variation from the previous games.
