Converge acquires Dave Ildefonso from Titan in PBA trade

Converge FiberXers has acquired the rights to Dave Ildefonso from Titan Ultra Giant Risers in an approved PBA trade, sending forward Kobe Monje and future draft picks to Titan.

The deal involves Converge's second-round pick in the 51st season draft and a first-round pick in the 52nd season draft.

Converge governor Archen Cayabyab stated that acquiring Ildefonso was a tough but necessary move for the young team to become more competitive and aim for a championship.

Ildefonso, a former Gilas Pilipinas standout, will reunite with his father, Danny Ildefonso, an assistant coach for Converge.

However, Converge will have to wait longer to see Ildefonso play as he is currently playing for Abra in the MPBL Playoffs, where he is averaging 18.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.7 steals in 31 games.

Titan Ultra inherited Ildefonso's rights from NorthPort, who selected him in the first round of the 2024 Draft, but a deal could not be reached, leading him to play in the MPBL and for Strong Group Athletics.

Kobe Monje was the 21st overall pick in this year's draft and had limited playing time with Converge, playing just one game and scoring two points.
