Barangay Ginebra acquires Abarrientos, Holt, Go in trade with Terrafirma

Barangay Ginebra has acquired rising stars RJ Abarrientos, Isaac Go, and Stephen Holt through a trade with Terrafirma.

Coach Tim Cone, who also leads the Gilas Pilipinas national team, acknowledged the potential of these new players for both Ginebra and the national program.

However, Cone stated that the current Gilas Pilipinas roster is set with two alternates, and any new player addition would mean an existing player is removed.

Cone emphasized that while Abarrientos is a promising young talent, his inclusion in Gilas is a long-term consideration, potentially three to four years away.

The trade involved sending Christian Standhardinger and Stanley Pringle to Terrafirma in exchange for Go, Holt, and the third overall pick in the PBA Rookie Draft, which Ginebra used to select Abarrientos.

RJ Abarrientos previously showcased his playmaking skills as a standout player for Far Eastern University in the UAAP.
