Concepcion confident Metro Manila ready for Alert Level 1

Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship Joey Concepcion expressed optimism that Metro Manila could soon be placed under Alert Level 1, citing OCTA Research's assessment that the region is ready for the downgrade.

He anticipates this shift, which would allow for increased mobility for vaccinated individuals, possibly occurring in December.

Concepcion acknowledged the Inter-Agency Task Force's acceptance of the strategy to grant more freedom to the vaccinated while restricting the unvaccinated.

Metro Manila is nearing or has already met the target of vaccinating 70 percent of its senior population, a key criterion for Alert Level 1.

Under Alert Level 1, business establishments can operate at full-site capacity, but Concepcion emphasized the continued need for strict adherence to health protocols.

Concepcion also urged the government to allow the private sector to use its procured vaccines for booster shots for employees and inoculation of minors, a proposal which Health Secretary Francisco Duque III and vaccine czar Carlito Galvez, Jr. are reportedly open to.
