Concepcion backs Alert Level Zero to boost economy

Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship Joey Concepcion III supports the proposed "Alert Level Zero" to further relax COVID-19 restrictions.

He noted that COVID-19 cases have not surged despite the opening of the economy and the conduct of political campaign rallies.

Concepcion believes that Alert Level Zero will encourage local governments to increase vaccination rates and boost confidence in the Philippines moving away from the pandemic, benefiting the economy.

He suggested that under Alert Level Zero, face masks might become optional in outdoor settings, except in situations where physical distancing is not feasible.

Concepcion also proposed that Alert Level Zero could be implemented first in areas already under Alert Level 1 by April.

He cited Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, stating that President Rodrigo Duterte must declare the state of emergency over to remove the alert level.

Under Alert Level Zero, Concepcion advised that business establishments should decide if they will require vaccination cards for their customers.
