Community pantry inspires nationwide bayanihan spirit

A community pantry in Maginhawa, Quezon City, initiated by Ana Patricia Non, has become a symbol of the bayanihan spirit, inspiring similar initiatives across the country.

The pantry provides essential goods such as rice, vegetables, canned goods, and face masks to those in need, with a reminder to 'Give what you can. Take what you need.'

Due to its viral success and the widespread hunger experienced during the pandemic, the initiative has been replicated in other locations in Luzon, including Rizal and Laguna.

In Quezon City alone, similar pantries have sprung up in Barangays Pinyahan, Kamias, and Claro.

Elmer Cordero, a member of the 'Piston 6,' participated in a community pantry in Barangay Claro, stating it's time to give back after receiving help during his time of need.

The sustainability of these pantries relies on the collective effort of the community and the continuous pouring of donations.
