MRT-7, common station eyed for 2027 completion

Department of Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon announced that the MRT-7 line, from Trinoma to Sacred Heart station in Quezon City, is targeted to be operational by 2027 or possibly earlier, with the full line expected to be completed by 2029.

He also stated that the Common Station, which will link LRT-1, MRT-3, and MRT-7, is expected to be completed by 2027, coinciding with the opening of the MRT-7 line.

Dizon aims to secure a new contractor for the common station by the third quarter of 2025 to meet the 2027 completion deadline.

These projects, including the common station and MRT-7, have been in progress for approximately 15 years.

The Secretary expressed optimism that all these long-delayed infrastructure projects will be finished and operational within the current presidential term.
