Comelec, SM Supermalls partner for VCM test voting

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has partnered with SM Supermalls to allow the public to test vote counting machines (VCMs) in malls nationwide.

This initiative aims to familiarize voters with the VCMs and alleviate fears regarding their security and functionality.

Comelec Chairman Saidamen Pangarungan assured the public that the VCMs are state-of-the-art, secure, and tamper-proof.

The VCM demonstrations will take place in all 78 SM malls across the country.

Demos in Luzon are scheduled from April 20 to 24, while those in the Visayas and Mindanao will be held from April 22 to 24.

Approximately 800 mock ballots with fictitious names will be provided daily per mall site for the demonstrations.
