Comelec registers 962,615 voters for 2026 BSKE, aims for 1.4 million

As of December 14, 2025, 962,615 Filipinos have registered to vote for the 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections (BSKE), falling short of the Commission on Elections' (Comelec) target of 1.4 million new voters.

The total number of registrants comprises 512,378 women, with the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) category accounting for 223,282 and regular voter categories for 739,333.

Calabarzon (Region IV-A) leads in registrants with 203,428, followed by Metro Manila with 114,820 and Central Luzon (Region III) with 114,628.

The Cordilleras recorded the lowest number of applicants with 12,147, followed by Western Visayas with 27,341 and Mimaropa with 28,520.

Comelec Chairman George Garcia is optimistic that the target of 1.4 million new voters will be exceeded by the end of the registration period in May, as voter registration began in October.
