Comelec closes its offices in MECQ areas until Aug. 18
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) offices in Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal will cease operations from August 4 to August 18 due to the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ).
The Comelec main office and other offices in Intramuros, Manila, will also undergo disinfection and decontamination during this period.
During the closure, Comelec officers and employees will continue to perform their functions on a work-from-home basis.
The issuance of voter's certifications from these affected offices, including those from the Election Records and Statistics Department (ERSD) and the Office for Overseas Voting (OFOV) in the main office, is temporarily suspended.
