Comelec makes face shields voluntary for campaign, elections

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has announced that the use of face shields is now voluntary for campaign activities and during the May 9 elections in areas under Alert Level 1 to 3.

This policy is in accordance with the New Normal Manual issued by the Comelec.

However, the Comelec still reminds the public to strictly adhere to minimum public health standards before, during, and after participating in the polls.

Voters are required to wear face masks and observe physical distancing of at least one meter while inside the voting center.

Those with a temperature of 37.5 degrees Celsius will be directed to medical personnel and may vote in Isolated Polling Places if evaluated to have a fever.
