Coco Martin to star in two major films, a prequel and a biopic

Kapamilya actor Coco Martin is set to star in two major Filipino films: "On the Job: Maghari," a prequel to the acclaimed "On the Job" franchise, and "May Pagasa: The Battles of Andres Bonifacio," a biopic about the revolutionary hero.

Martin's CCM Productions is collaborating with Reality Entertainment and director Erik Matti for these ambitious projects, scheduled for release in 2026 and 2027 respectively.

The "On the Job" prequel will delve into the backstory of Tatang, the character originally portrayed by Joel Torre.

"May Pagasa" aims to provide an in-depth exploration of the life and thoughts of Andres Bonifacio.

Martin expressed his long-held desire to work with Matti and Monteverde, admitting he felt inadequate at times when he wasn't approached for projects.

The collaboration came about after Dondon Monteverde expressed his interest in working with Martin, leading to a meeting that excited the actor due to his admiration for Matti's previous works like "On the Job" and "Buy Bust."
