Cignal HD Spikers claim first PVL Reinforced Conference semis berth

The Cignal HD Spikers secured the first semifinal seat in the 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference by defeating Capital1 in a five-set match.

Despite Capital1's Marina Tushova scoring 50 points, Cignal emerged victorious with set scores of 25-19, 36-34, 16-25, 22-25, and 15-12.

Import MJ Perez led Cignal with 34 points, including seven blocks, and also contributed 15 excellent receptions, scoring two of Cignal's last four points.

Riri Meneses was named Best Player of the match for her 21 points, which included seven blocks and an attack that gave Cignal a 13-10 lead in the fifth set.

Team captain Ces Molina contributed 16 points and 14 excellent receptions, while Jacqueline Acuña added eight points and a crucial block on Tushova.

Gel Cayuna orchestrated the offense with 21 excellent sets, and Judith Abil provided 18 excellent digs.

Cignal will next face the winner of the match between Creamline and defending champion Petro Gazz.
