Police operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) seized approximately P3.9 million worth of unregistered vape products in two separate raids in Quezon City.
The operations led to the arrest of six individuals who were reportedly selling and distributing the products without necessary permits from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
Confiscated items include various models of vape devices and cartridges, totaling 8,567 pieces of X-BLACK ELITE 12000 Puffs and 300 pieces of X-BLACK ELITE 8000 Puffs, among others.
The suspects are facing charges for violating Republic Act 11900 (Vaporized Nicotine and Non-Nicotine Products Regulation Act), RA 10643 (Graphic Health Warnings Law), RA 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012), and the Consumer Act of the Philippines.
CIDG director Maj. Gen. Nicolas Torre III stated that these operations are part of an intensified campaign against smuggling, economic sabotage, and the sale of unregistered vape products nationwide.
The CIDG continues its commitment to protecting public health and urges the public to report any illegal trade of vape products.
