Chinese tugboat, barges barred from docking in Dumaguete City

A tugboat and two barges from China were barred from docking in Dumaguete City as a precautionary measure against the novel coronavirus (nCoV).

Although the 11 Filipino crew members were found to be healthy and tested negative for nCoV, they were not allowed to disembark until their vessels completed inspection.

The vessels MTUG IMC 18, Barge IMC 19, and Barge IMC 20 acquired by Industry Movers Corporation are scheduled for refurbishing.

Their last port call was in Taizhou, China, but their port of origin was in Belize.

Following the inspection, the crew is expected to convert the vessels from foreign to domestic before proceeding to their next port call.
