PNP: P700-M shabu seized in Bulacan might part of ‘floating’ drugs
Two Chinese nationals, identified as Ry and Lian and tagged as high-value individuals, were arrested in Bulacan for possessing P700.4 million worth of suspected shabu.
The Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP DEG) confiscated approximately 103 kilograms of the illegal substance in a buy-bust operation last Saturday night, June 28, 2025.
One of the suspects, Lian, used a seafood store, restaurant, and warehouse in Guiguinto and Plaridel as a front for the illegal activity.
The PNP DEG is investigating the possibility that the seized drugs, found in wet packaging, are part of the tons of 'floating shabu' recovered in the waters off Luzon.
PNP chief Police General Nicolas Torre III stated that the seizure was part of a case operational plan, and PDEG chief Police Brigadier General Edwin Quilates mentioned that the NCR SOU had been tracking the suspects' movements from Region 3 to NCR.
