Chinese jet, helicopter harass PH patrol plane over Scarborough Shoal
A Chinese fighter jet and military helicopter harassed a Philippine patrol aircraft over Scarborough Shoal on Wednesday, October 15.
A People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy helicopter flew directly beneath the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) aircraft, followed by a PLA Air Force Shenyang J-16 fighter jet that endangered its safe flight path.
The PCG described the actions as aggressive interference that endangered their crew and disrupted their surveillance mission.
During the same flight, the PCG also discovered a second yellow floating buoy at the northern tip of the shoal, in addition to one spotted earlier at the center.

The PCG stated that such actions pose a clear and unacceptable risk to the safety of their personnel and embedded journalists.
