China virus death toll hits 304, cases over 11,000

China's coronavirus death toll has climbed to 304 with over 11,000 confirmed cases as international travel restrictions and flight suspensions mount.

More than two dozen other countries have reported over 130 cases of the virus, with most linked to the Hubei province, the outbreak's epicenter.

The epidemic has prompted mass evacuations of foreign nationals and has led to significant disruptions in global air travel.

Several countries, including the United States, Australia, Russia, Vietnam, Italy, Singapore, and Mongolia, are implementing border controls and suspending visas or flights to curb the spread of the virus.

Britain, Russia, and Sweden confirmed their first infections, while thousands of Hong Kong medical workers voted to strike to push the government to close its border with mainland China.

The US and Chinese governments advised their citizens not to travel to China, and some nations have ordered embassy employees and their families to return home.
