China urges PH to remove US missile launchers

China has reiterated its call for the Philippines to remove US Typhon missile launchers from the country, warning that the Philippines is continuing "going further the wrong path."

Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning urged the Philippines to "correct the wrongdoing as soon as possible, quickly pull out the Typhon missile system as publicly pledged."

The US military reportedly relocated its Mid-Range Capability missile system to another site in Luzon.

These Typhon missile launchers are equipped with Tomahawk cruise missiles and SM-6 missiles with a range exceeding 200 kilometers.

China argues that the deployment of these missile launchers escalates regional tensions, promotes geopolitical confrontation, and fuels an arms race.

Mao Ning stated that the deployment is a "highly dangerous move and an extremely irresponsible choice" for the Philippines, Southeast Asian countries, and regional security.
