Chery Tiggo makes comeback win in PVL opener

Chery Tiggo commenced their 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference campaign with a five-set comeback victory against Capital1, with set scores of 20-25, 25-23, 22-25, 25-18, 15-11.

The Crossovers achieved this win despite being an undermanned team, having lost key members Eya Laure, Mylene Paat, Jen Nierva, Jas Nabor, EJ Laure, and Buding Duremdes.

Ara Galang led Chery Tiggo with 23 points, including 18 attacks, four blocks, and an ace, and emphasized the team's need to work and gel together.

Cess Robles contributed 12 points and 27 excellent digs, Shaya Adorador added 11 points, Aby Maraño scored nine points, and Daps Dapol had eight points.

Alina Bicar provided 15 excellent sets, and rookie libero Karen Verdeflor had 27 digs and six receptions.

Despite a strong performance from Leila Cruz, who scored a career-high 20 points for Capital1, the Solar Spikers could not secure the win.

Chery Tiggo coach Norman Miguel noted the team's initial disorganization but praised their ability to overcome it.
