Cebu Pacific, PAL cancel Manila flights due to MECQ

Budget carrier Cebu Pacific has canceled all its domestic flights to and from Manila, including those of Cebgo, from August 4 to 18 due to the reimposition of modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) in Metro Manila.

Philippine Airlines has also canceled its domestic flights to and from Manila during the same period.

However, Cebu Pacific flights between Clark and Cebu, and Clark and Davao will continue to operate every Tuesday.

Philippine Airlines stated that domestic flights between Clark, Cebu, and Davao, as well as other areas not under MECQ, will proceed as scheduled.

Cebu Pacific intends to continue operating its overseas flights between Manila and Dubai and Manila and Singapore, as well as flights from Manila to Seoul, from Tokyo to Manila, and from Osaka to Manila.

Flights between Manila and Taipei, along with all other Cebu Pacific international flights, are canceled.

Affected passengers can choose to rebook their flights within three months, place the ticket cost in a travel fund, or be fully refunded.

Metro Manila, Bulacan, and the Calabarzon areas were placed under MECQ from August 4 to 18 following pleas from the healthcare sector amid a surge in COVID-19 cases.
