K9 dog leads to P170M shabu bust in Cebu

A K9 dog named "Bayani" led authorities to confiscate an estimated P170 million worth of suspected shabu weighing 25 kilos during a random inspection in Pier 4, Cebu City on Thursday, January 23.

Arrested were mother and son Edna Roche Loga, 64, a resident of Barangay Ermita, Cebu City, and Edward Roche Loga, 42, from Santo Rosario, Isabel, Leyte.

The suspects claimed they were instructed to transport the vehicle from Masbate to Cebu and were unaware it contained illegal drugs.

One of the suspects stated she did not know the person who gave them the instructions.

Operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas, Regional Maritime Police, and Cebu Port Authority police seized the illegal drugs.
