China Coast Guard accuses PCG of collision near Escoda Shoal

The China Coast Guard (CCG) alleged that two Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) vessels, identified as No. 4410 and No. 4411, illegally entered waters near Xianbin Reef (Escoda Shoal) without permission.

CCG spokesperson Gan Yu claimed that PCG vessel No. 4410 deliberately and unprofessionally collided with CCG boat 21551 during a law enforcement operation.

The CCG stated that control measures were implemented against the Philippine ships in accordance with the law.

A 15-second video of the incident was released by state-owned Shanghai Daily on X.

China asserts its indisputable sovereignty over the Spratly Islands, including Escoda Shoal, which is within the Philippines' exclusive economic zone.
