Cayetano family urged to lead by example and resign from posts

Lino Cayetano, brother of Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, has urged their family to lead by example and resign from their positions, supporting Alan's call for top government leaders to step down amidst public distrust.

Senator Alan Peter Cayetano proposed a mass resignation of the President, Vice President, Senators, and Congress members, followed by snap elections where no incumbent officials would be allowed to run for one cycle.

Alan Cayetano believes this drastic measure would provide a "clean slate" for the Filipino people, suggesting that local officials like governors, mayors, and barangay chairpersons could remain in their posts as they are generally trusted.

Lino Cayetano expressed his support for his brother's proposal, specifically asking that the Cayetano family be the first to relinquish power.

Lino emphasized that the Senate could operate without the Cayetano family's presence and that Taguig City has a capable Vice Mayor, adding that their family has had 15 years to implement reforms in Taguig City.

He believes this act of stepping down would be a legacy their father would be proud of and that it would initiate a true transformation for the country.
