CAVITEX to go cashless on September 14
The Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) will implement a full cashless system across its toll plazas starting September 14, 2024.
PEA Tollway Corp. (PEATC), a subsidiary of the Philippine Reclamation Authority, will remove all cash lanes and mandate all travelers to use RFID for toll payments.
Motorists without an RFID will be directed to the side of the road to pay in cash and have their vehicles installed with an RFID.
The dry run for the full cashless system covers the Parañaque and Kawit Toll Plazas of CAVITEX.
The Toll Regulatory Board is also conducting trials for contactless payments, aiming to enforce 100 percent RFID within the year.
Motorists can get their RFID stickers at multiple stations along CAVITEX and CAVITEX-C5 Link to support the transition.
The implementation of fines for motorists without an RFID or insufficient load was deferred to October 1.
